Forget the advent calendars, Moon Under Water is launching multiple beers in December

Introducing Moon’s 4 BEERS OF THE HOLIDAYS!
To celebrate the upcoming holiday season, we will be launching a new beer every Tuesday for the next 4 weeks.
Tuesday Nov 25th: Victoria’s Sticke- This year it’s a Belgian Stout brewed cocoa nibs and vanilla beans:)
Tuesday Dec 2nd: SOMA II – Dave Jansen’s gold medal Saison, possibly the best beer ever brewed at the Moon! [Dave brews really good beers]
Tuesday Dec 9th: Oud King Crow – Our very first barreled sour! [mmmm…sour]
Tuesday Dec 16th: Hip as Funk – Belgian-style IPA [mmm…sour.. no wait that was last week]

Category 12 announces opening December 19th

We have all heard rumbling about the new brewery in town, Category 12. The delays are over. Put on your bright orange shirt, yes the one you got at Beer Fest, and head to Central Saanich on December 19th. That is a Friday. They are at 2200 Keating Cross Road. I can’t cut and paste from the press release, so I will give you the highlights: growler fill, tasting room, Black IPA and Saison. No where does it say what time they open. Can’t too careful, I’ll be waiting at 4AM. Forget the cheap PS4 on Boxing Day, I want the first growler fill!

 

First Brew at Gladstone Today!

gladstone0001 Courtney’s newest brewery has just brewed their first beer today. It will be released some time before the New Year. I can’t do more hype than that.

Phillips releases Black Jackal Impy Coffee Stout

I told you winter was here. This second stout of the season is proof. Not much to say, press release to follow. philcoffeestout

December 1st, 2014: Coffee stouts have always held a  special place in our hearts as one of the three original Phillips brews, and this year’s Imperial version–brewed in collaboration with our  friends at 2% Jazz Coffee Co.–is an 8% 650mL double shot!

Pouring a deep black earth colour with a medium tan head, this beer is brewed with freshly roasted coffee beans and then finished with a second coffee addition just prior to packaging.  The flavour is a java-laden journey featuring bright coffee aromas and dry roasted flavours accented with hints of dark chocolate.  Methodically crafted with only the best local coffee, this one-eyed Jackal is no wildcard.

Available at finer craft-friendly private liquor stores as well as BC Liquor Stores for a limited time only.
