Driftwood to Release Their First Lager

– COMING JUNE 9TH 2014 –

Driftwood’s first lager!

Brewed entirely with luscious barley grown and malted on the Saanich Peninsula by artisan Maltster Mike Doehnel, and so named in his honour.

This dry, snappy North German-style Pils was lagered for 6 weeks and hopped generously.

*Once released, this beer will be available at private liquor stores in BC while supplies last.

Oddly, I’m currently homebrewing with some of Mike Doehnel’s malt. #27. It’s also going to be my first lager. Tres bizarre.

  1. If you are looking for some good driftwood brews and your traveling up island this summer, there’s a new pub in courtenay called the white whale that you should check out. Last week I had driftwoods gose on tap. I’ve never seen gose on tap before, so this is quite a feat for small town courtenay. They also had some hoyne, central city, Phillips and lighthouse.
